About Sessions
Counselling is a type of Talking Therapy. It takes place with a trained professional who holds a space for you to talk about whatever you need, such as your thoughts, emotions, behaviours or experiences. A Counsellor does not advise, diagnose, problem-solve or judge.
Person-Centred is a type of Counselling. Those that follow the Person-Centred approach believe that people have the capacity for growth and change and in order for this to happen, authentic empathy and genuine connection is required. I offer Person-Centred Counselling with a deep focus on relational safety so that clients are free to explore whatever they wish to without judgement.
Think of 'Therapy' as an umbrella term. Counselling is a type of Therapy that sits underneath it.

No, I am not currently offering CBT in my private practice. I am trained as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), which is a role within the NHS offering low-level CBT interventions for mild to moderate mental health concerns. As such, the role only exists within a multi-disciplinary team, like we have in the NHS.
I am happy to offer some psychoeducation and resources, if wanted and appropriate, alongside Counselling.
